Dreamhare – rabbit-like creatures with large feather-like ears and puffy tails. They are quick little buggers and are usually found on the Fields of Arisa. It is said that these Dreamhare are her companions as her soul travels the fields. Wolves – canine inhabitants of the forests that occasionally find their way to the Fields of Arisa, these beasts tend to keep their distance from any settlements. It is their larger counterparts, the Dire Wolves, that one must be wary of. These larger wolves are often the leaders of wolf packs and are not afraid to attack travelers or nearby settlements. Howlers – canine-like, furless beasts that inhabit the oases of the Dunes of Deception. Their skin is tough, and they have large spikes along their spine and sharp claws. Very aggressive, they live in packs in the desert. Coeurls – large feline-like creatures with one tentacle protuding from either side of the face where whiskers normally grow. Wild coeurls are rather magic based creatures. Some coeurls have been bred to be house pets among the Humes and are much smaller than their wild counterparts. They also have no magic capabilities. Golden Eagles – found only in the Feywood, these eagles are companions of the Elves. Highly intelligent, they are often messengers to the world outside the Feywood. Horses – used as draft animals by Humes, horses are fast means of travel. Some higher class Elves may have horses, and the occasional Menodix will have a pony. Assassin Vines - found in certain areas of the Feywood, this nasty plant gets its nutrients from any living thing it catches! The main vine of these plants grow to be 20 feet in length and 5 inches thick. Hopefully you are friendly enough with the Elves that they show you a way around these vicious vines. Golem - Eben, protector of Erinia's Shrine. The original creator of the great tower, his Gemina wish was to protect the shrine forever. He didn't think his wish through apparently and is now forever the tower's stone guardian. Sylphs - very rare, elemental creatures. Often found during storms, these creatures have a lot of magic capabilities. They range between fire, ice, thunder, water, and dark elements. Mapaiara - the species of fish found in Wisteria Lake and Palamecia River. The most common type of fresh water fish eaten mostly by Menodix and Humes. Ibeab - large, light-blue fish of the Palamecia River and ocean. It has a serpentine body and white spots bordered with orange rings. Aggressive and territorial, these fish have tough skin and are very fast. Nunu - mouse-like creatures that tend to live in and around various races' settlements. They are grey and white and have long, thin tails and large ears with lots of fluff on the ends. Cubote - squirrel-like creatures with large, fluffy ears and leaf-like tails. They tend to stay within the forests of Tarmaq and have different colorations depending on which forest they live in. In the Feywood, they are the color of autumn leaves, while in Eirwyn Forest, they are black with spots that glow at night. Zu - large bird-of-prey of the desert. They circle above their target for a while before finally striking. If you are out in the desert, beware of large shadows. Star-nosed Moles - blind companions to the Menodix, these medium-sized rodents help the race dig their tunnels. Treated more as equals than pets like many Humes would believe. Komodos - large reptiles that live along the riverbanks of the Palamecia River. With their high attack and defense, most races leave this creature alone if they spot one in the river. The only race to choose to stay around the Komodos are Nymphs who actually ride these creatures. Istas - deer-like creatures that inhabit Eirwyn Forest. They are black and have spots that glow at night. Hunters are drawn to the Forest by its creatures for their pelts. Huslu - large bears that inhabit both the Eirwyn Forest and the Pryl Mountains. Just like the Istas, they have black fur with spots that glow at night. They hibernate in the Forest during the winter as most hunters know better to come to the Forest in winter. During the summer, they spend much of their time in the mountains among the Ancrida, helping to protect and build their settlements. Celur - enormous, elephant-like beasts that inhabit the Fields of Arisa. They have four tusks, the upper-lip tusks like elephant's and the lower-lip tusks like a shovel. They are herbivores that tend to keep to themselves. Dragons - only a few of these enormous, flying reptiles have been seen over the years. Many believe that dragons were made by the Goddess Erinia to destroy mortals before Adillian stepped in and proposed the Gemina wishes. Of these people, some believe there are thousands living beneath Tarmaq's surface, waiting for Erinia's rage to become too much to contain, so that they may be released on the unsuspecting world. While they may vary in color and breaths, all dragons have four legs, one set of wings, one head, one tail, grow to twenty feet tall at the most, and can live to be one thousand years old. Domesticated Animals - cats, dogs, poultry, etc. Only Humes have domesticated these animals, no other race really has use for them. |
